I'm Off To Europe Again. . . Next Stop - PARIS!
Sweet Paris... what is known to be the city of love, was the city of adventure during my last visit.
Everything from sipping on espressos midday at the local cafes, to museum visits, to dancing all night long, shopping, site-seeing, to fine-dining and staring at the all the beautiful architecture; I was truly in a zone and soaked in every second. I wanted to renew my experience and approach it as if it was my first time again.
On the french-speaking: I told myself my goal was to become more fluent. Even though I was able to cheat a little bit by using my second language to assist me - broken french, creole; I practiced the dialect in full conversation with the locals and Uber drivers (by the way which was such a hilarious experience) haha. Nonetheless, it made me appreciate this beautiful love language so much more.
There is still an abundant amount of venture to take heed to in Europe, and I never feel like I have enough time to do it all. I am already anxious for my next return but for a longer amount of time. I am secretly hoping to even move there soon. I'm young and in my selfish years so why not?! I encourage each of you to invest in abiding a new culture in any foreign country at least once.
I want to share a few travel tips that I noticed made a difference for me this time around:
- Exchange your currency in advance - When you arrive to your point of destination, it is less of a hassle to travel from the airport in a cab or grab a bite to eat with euros already in hand. Especially if they don't take card, therefore you just want to be prepared.
- Use Google Translate - MAJOR KEY! This app can help translate dining menus as well as assist in eloquent conversation in any foreign language.
- Be selective with your travel buddies - a crucial factor to traveling is the company you are keeping while creating these memories. I've learned that you cannot travel with everyone. Be certain that whomever you decide to take a trip with will have the same intentions as you, be present, make the most of the travel, in addition to someone whom you are compatible with seeking adventure with. Make the most of your experience with good valuable company.
I hope this was helpful.
Jusqu'à la prochaine fois...
